Essentially, the Human Resources series is about the modern human experience as seen through the eye’s of the working poor.   It is an attempt to understand one’s place within a corporate landscape.   Each painting represents a narrative I personally witnessed during the two years that I worked at a Super WalMart.   The figurative compositions allude to Art History in order to highlight the timeless quality of the worker genre and the enduring presents or working poor even in today’s world.   It is important for us as a culture not to become arrogant in our modernity as if we are immune to societal ills of the past, such as a large section of the population who work very hard and receive very little in return.
